The Datsun Evolution
The Datsun Evolution in recent times has become a force to be reckoned with, it has evolved and moved with the times. The first production of Datsun started in 1931 and was called Type 10 – 150 of the produced cars were sold in 1932. In the olden days, the Datsun brand manufactured a variety, such as the Datsun 2407, which proved to be the number #1 selling sports car worldwide.

- The original name of the brand was Datson but was changed to Datsun because ‘’son’’ means loss in Japanese
- In the 1960s Datsun branded some of their automobiles as Nissan.
- At some point, the Datsun brand was discontinued for the Nissan brand to strengthen.
- The Datsun name change to Nissan costed Nissan a staggering $500 000 000.
- Datsun was discontinued in 1986 and relaunched in 2013.
- Datsun’s are currently sold in South Africa, Lebanon, India, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Nepal and Russia.
